Control Room Interview Questions

1. Explain the steps for run and schedule BOT from Automation Anywhere Control Room?

Answer: To Run Bot from Automation Anywhere Control Room we need to follow steps as mentioned below.

1. First upload the BOT using Automation Anywhere Client including dependent files or sub Tasks if any into Control Room.
2. Go to Control Room > Bots > My bots > My Tasks > select the Task which you want to run or schedule
3. Select Run Bot > Select Bot Runner (from the available List) and click on Arrow to add the Bot runner
4. Click on Run Now button to start the BOT.

Steps for Scheduling Bot in Automation Anywhere Control Room.

1. Following the steps 1 and 2 as mentioned above
2. Click on Schedule Bot and it will take you to the page Called Scheduled Bot
3. Select the Schedule type as Run Once or Run repeatedly to select the BOT Start Date and Start Time
4. Add the Bot runner from Device option and click next
5. Click on Schedule Bot Button in the next Page

2. What is the reason for showing Error ‘Bad Gateway‘ in Automation Anywhere Control Room. How to resolve this error.?

Answer: Generally Bad Gateway error comes when Automation Anywhere services stop running due to some reason or it may also come when SQL Database server services stop running. To solve this issue we need to re-start the Automation Anywhere services, if the issue is not resolved after re-start then we need to check the services in SQL Database and re-start it to resolve this issue.

3. Explain the steps for creating user in Automation Anywhere Control Room?

Answer: To create a user in Automation Anywhere Control room we need to follow the mentioned steps:

(b) Go to the settings tab and select user

(c) Click on Create User option

(d) Update the general information like username, First Name, Last Name, Password and Email ID

(e) Select the roles which want to assign to a particular user from the list of the available roles and then click on Create User button.

4. What is secure recording in Automation Anywhere? How and where to setup this feature?

Answer: Automation Anywhere special feature Secure recording allows the process not to capture sensitive information. When this feature is enabled then no Bot Developer or Bot Runner can capture the images, text, or values from the particular applications. This feature helps business on keeping sensitive data secure.

To use this feature we need to following the below steps

• Login to Automation Anywhere Control Room using Admin privilege.
• Go to Administration
• Settings
• Client Application
• Secure Recording – Secure Recording On/Off

5. What is Credentials Vault in Automation Anywhere? What is advantages of using it.

Answer: Credential vault in Automation Anywhere helps on securely storing sensitive data like User ID and Password. Basically, it is a repository that holds credentials or any sensitive information which can be shared with RPA Developers or the BOT Runner system to access the particular applications.

Advantages of using Credentials vault:

• It helps on minimizing credentials fraud
• Credentials can be share with limited resources
• Help us on follow the credentials management compliance.

6. Explain the steps for creating Credentials in Automation Anywhere Control Room?

Answer: To create the credentials in Automation Anywhere we need to follow the below steps.

• Login to Control Room with required privilege
• Got to BOT and select Credentials
• Click on create a credentials
• Once Create Credentials page is open put the Credential Name and description
• In Attribute Section update Attribute Name and Descriptions
• Select the Credential Input type – Standard or User Provided
• Select Security type as Masked or This is a Password.

Once the above information is updated then Create Credentials button will be enabled. Click on Create Credential to complete the Credentials creation Process.

7. What is two-factor Authentication in Automation Anywhere? Explain the steps for enabling this feature.

Automation Anywhere Control room is integrated with Two-Factor authentication security system that required two different forms of identification to access something. This special features can help on strengthen the security. When this option is enabled and a particular user assigns a role that required two-factor authentication then user must me set up the Authenticator application on their mobile devices to establish the connection between the Authentication application and Automation Anywhere Control Room.

By default, the two-factor Authentication feature will be disabled and two enabled in we need to perform the following steps.

• Login to Automation Anywhere Control room using Admin Role
• Go to Administration > Settings > Two Factor Authentication
• Click on Edit and Select the Enabled Check Box
• Save the Changes
